Nuggles Swim Diaper Review + GIVEAWAY

Why waste your money on disposable swim diapers when you can have a cute reusable one?

This summer I was sent a Nuggles Swimsees reusable swim diaper to try out. I liked the idea of reducing waste, and that Nuggles is a growing Canadian brand. Now I know your first concern: What if my baby poops in it? Well, it can happen. It will happen. I suggest purchasing two at a time, just in case a quick rinse isn’t doing the job and you need to swap.

I’ve tried a couple swim diaper brands now and I’m loving a few key things about this one:

•Adjustable lining. I haven’t come across many that you can actually adjust the lining in, this will provide a snug fit and is the key to holding any thing in you don’t want out. •Adjustable Waist. Offering 4 settings to fit snug and comfortably from 7-35 lbs.

•Super cute prints or solid colors. Why not have a cute printed baby bum running around? If your using a swimsuit over top you see the print peaking out instead of the blue disposable diaper I used to buy… Bonus: it’s much nicer to capture a cute photo in a cloth print.

•Reusable. This is probably my biggest love. I’ve used mine again and again and I’m trying to add up how much I would have spent on disposables by now. FYI- it’s double then the reusable one costs.

•Easy care. Machine wash and hang to dry.

My only complaint was although Nuggles claims this will fit from 7-35 lbs I’m thinking by 35 lbs it’s going to be too small. My daughter is 26ish lbs now and I have it on the last setting and I don’t condsider her very chubby. This will obviously depend on the size of your child and but fingers crossed my girl will be potty training and we won’t need it by that size and weight anyway.

Now for the awesome news…I’ve teamed up with one of the Nuggles retailers Carry Me Mommy for 10% off any Nuggles diaper (or anything in the shop!) by using code MOMMALUVZ  *just click the banner below

We are also offering a GIVEAWAY for this lime green one below, so make sure you subscribe to my blog and head over to my Facebook Page to complete your entry.

  1. I was looking into this for my 18 month old son. He’s about 30 lbs, so knowing that your daughter is on the high-end of the size, makes me think I might be out of luck with Nuggles. Cool concept though!

  2. I haven’t heard of these but sounds like something to look into. However my only concern is the sun protection. I usually have my little one covered up because he is fair skinned.

  3. Hi Shannon,
Yes sun protection is definitely important, the swim diaper doesn’t necessarily have to be used on it’s own, but can be used just as a diaper while swimming. I always use and reapply sunscreen on my kids but on those very hot days it’s smart to cover up and just use the swim diaper for what it’s meant for 🙂 Thanks for reading!
