Rowan Bay is a newer company based out of London in the United Kingdom. I was excited to be offered a brand rep ambassador position by the owner Larissa who is a mother of two herself and has a deep passion for babywearing. She is keen on the importance of keeping all the design and manufacturing process within the UK of her luxury woven wraps and is inspired by the world around us and translates this into the Rowan Bay designs.

Chrysler Heather is the first wrap we get to play with and arrives in a beautiful tote with a zipper that is perfect for anything from wraps to beach bag, to day or diaper bag. Heather is a deep purple and ecru color with a chevron style print that is visually appealing, but the marshmallowy feel in hand is what is drawing me in to this beauty. The first carry I try with this wrap is a pirate carry with cccb and next a double hammock. I can feel some stretch as I wrap and I’m pleased with the moldable chest pass and ability to create passes easily in the double hammock carry.
Over the next couple weeks I’ve enjoyed using Heather in multiple carries and I find it super comfortable and cushy on my shoulders, a wrap quality that is appreciated by any wrapper. I believe the cush factor comes from the double weave of this wrap and I can see myself using this wrap often for a ruck carry. I haven’t experienced any dig on my shoulders even while front carrying my nearly 26 lb toddler.
We absolutely loved Heather when wrapping an inside out coolest hip carry and it was this carry that I felt the support Heather had to offer. There is some evident texture here however I can easily tighten through a slipknot when tying this carry. I would recommend this wrap to anyone from a beginner to advanced wrapper, I believe it has something to offer to all wrappers. Heather is the type of wrap I can reply on to be a workhorse wrap since it’s comfortable, not pull prone, and is easy care so I don’t need to baby it. If you like very thin wraps or a ton of grip that may be the only reason you may pass on Heather.
I’d like to mention that this wrap also comes in a beautiful teal colorway named Chrysler Marina and is just as eye catching as Heather. Rowan Bay is heading in an exciting direction with some opportunities at custom warps including a Tussah Silk blend that I hope to try in the future.
